Those look like Black Bears to me. I'm surprised they get that close. I thought they usually were pretty shy. |

WOW Bluesy! These are just breath taking. The scenery is just fantastic!! And wow to how close you got to some bears. That had to a little scary??

That's exactly why there was a gun! Both of the guys in our grou were packing guns for the fishing trip, it's well known that bears frequent the area
and we planned on staying far away from them if we saw any. This one didn't pay us any attention and we were across the river, well away from it. If you
shoot a bear, you have to go through a pretty big deal so no one really wants to shoot one, unless absolutely necessary. The bullets were taken out of the gun
so Jean could pose with it.

Those are awesome pics! I do wish we could go on a trip like that - we have plenty of fishing here in Florida, but none that can match the sheer beauty of
those surroundings, and I've never done any stream fishing. How do you coodinate sucha trip, or is it a place rather handier to get to than Florida?

BB, we were lucky to be invited to go fishing with some folks that had gear we could use and so we just drove to the Russian River, found a spot and started
fishing...of course we had to get a fishing license before we went. I hope to go again sometime soon!
