Something seems very wrong with it imo. Yes, the rebate money was great. But, I don't like anyone being able to get into our bank accounts like that....the government included. What gives them the right to do that and isn't that going too far?

Recently, the government in the U.S. was able to deposit rebate checks into people's bank accounts without notification or permission. Do you think that
was right and does that bother you in any way? If you are from another country, would that bother you if your government did that?

they were allowed to based on how you filed your taxes and how you decided to get that refund. people who filed taxes and received a refund deposited into
their designated account but financed any portion of their fees (tax prep fee or whatever) were only issued paper checks.
