I would trust buying food FRESH directly from a farmer than I would the food that has been processed, imported, and regulated at a store anyday. Plus, this is
suppose to be a free country.

Farmers should be able to sell to whomever that want. Many small farms do.

I always buy from farmers when I can. Usually I always had my own garden. I did not sell from it but gave away.

I can kind of see their point. If the farms aren't regulated and they just sell it as they grow it. Do you actually know you aren't eating something
that shouldn't be up for sale?
I kind of look at this way. You aren't going to get your medications from some guy who has a pharmacuetical lab in his house? Are you? |

We buy grass-fed beef, free-range poultry, eggs, and pork from a local farmer. It is healthier, and a lot cheaper than the supermarket. We also make use of the
local farmer's markets.
One warning though. I was in a "farmer's market" in Ontario last year where food is required to be labeled for country of origination. Everything except for one type of cherries was imported from South Africa, Costa Rica, New Zealand, etc. Quite an import operation for a business in a tent along the road at the edge of a small town! |

farm shop sales and farmer's markets are quite big in england.
when i was a kid, you bought eggs, fruit and veggies from farms but these days they process their own meat and you get some quite big farm shops. some sell all kinds of things like a general store.

There's a Farmer's Market here once a month that I go to. The stuff is expensive but the quality is fantastic.
